The surgery is in a lovely setting and the current reception staff and nurses are very helpful. Doctor Wagstaff has a very superior attitude and recently, after a health review for HRT when she forgot to provide a prescription, I contacted the surgery and she denied I had even asked for one but said "as a personal favour, on this occasion, she would do one"! Rather strange bearing in mind she'd checked my blood pressure etc specifically so she could give me it again! I wrote a letter of complaint and never even got an acknowledgement. I'm told that she is getting a lot of complaints and simply isn't replying to them. Doctor Fernandez does not instil confidence in me as a patient. I went to her with what she dismissed as a sprained ankle. It was black and blue and I could not walk on it and there were obvious signs that it was more than a sprain - the next time I saw her I was in a cast with a Lisfranc fracture - broken in two places and torn ligaments underneath. She said 'oh sorry about that'! I am allergic to Nitrofurantoin and Cefalexin. I have a recurring UTI issue and despite this allergy being in big letters on their screen (so staff tell me) both doctors have repeatedly prescribed this drug to me. On one occasion I was given it and called to say I couldn't take it. 3 days later I received a replacement prescription - for the same drug! another 4 days later I received a suitable replacement. This is simply not good enough. The staff at the local chemist are constantly dealing with customers coming in for prescriptions that have not been sent over. Staff at the doctors say it is because they haven't been signed. My previous doctors (retired) would always make sure antibiotics were issued the very same day, but at Barnburgh you can take in a sample, the nurse will check it and staff will call to say a prescription is being done for you. My experience is that the doctors then leave it until the very end of the day (when the chemist is closed!) to sign a prescription, or even, as on this most recent occasion, the afternoon of the following day. The HRT I was taking has been discontinued so the doctor prescribed a different drug. This had also been discontinued so an alternative was given. The alternative that was prescribed was not appropriate for my stage of menopause so the Pharmacist very kindly sorted it out for me direct with the doctor and got me the correct one. Had I just assumed the Doctor knew what she was doing and had not read through the instruction leaflet and questioned with the Chemist whether it was right for me, I would have ended up in quite a state! Not good enough.

Not very good waiting time as increased 4 fold and also we were asked to come half hour early and still had to wait half an hour.
